Viticulture

From the upper Maremma, Colline Metallifere zone. Vines are cordon-spur trained. Soil is a rich combination of clay with significant pebble content - good for drainage. The higher plots are more pebbly, those lower down have more silt. 8,500 vines planted per ha. Vines are cultivated according to organic principles.

Vinification

Hand-harvested. The wine is matured for 20-22 months in new French oak barriques. Bottling takes place in the summer, and the wine is then left to age for several more months in the bottle before commercial release.

3,000 bottles produced annually.
