Viticulture

From the upper Maremma, Colline Metallifere zone. 5,000 - 9,000 vines planted per ha. Cordon spur and guyot-trained. Soil is a rich combination of clay with significant pebble content - good for drainage. The higher plots are more pebbly, those lower down have more silt. Vines are cultivated according to organic principles.

Vinification

Hand-harvested. 50% matured in once and twice-used French oak barriques; 50% in 35-hl tapered oak vats.

40,000 bottles produced annually.
