Viticulture

Produced from grapes from Brunelli's two estates - Podernovone and Le Chiuse di Sotto, planted in 1997 and 1987 respectively. 4,500 vines planted per ha. Vines are cordon-trained. Soil is a mix of rich clay and "galestro" - a calcareous marl unique to Tuscany.

Vinification

Hand-harvested in mid-October. Macerated for 25 days, then fermented at a controlled temperature to a maximum of 29 °C. Matured for 30 months in 20 hl. oak barrels.
