Beato Bartolomeo Breganze

Region: Veneto

History

Beato Bartolomeo Breganze is a cooperative that was founded on Valentine’s Day 1950. Created from 121 winegrowers from Breganze, Fara, Sarcedo and Mason, they have expanding and developing their capacities ever since.
Cantina Beato Bartolomeo now boasts around 700 members, and collectively owns 90% of the overall Breganze DOC area.

Estate

Located 80 km north-west of Venice, the winery's vineyards stretch across a hilly area charmingly dotted with cherry trees.
One of the most notable features of the winery is its remarkably large cellar. Built in 1970, it holds 260 oak casks and measures at around 2500 square metres in size, 15 metres underground. Its depth allows the humidity and temperature to remain at a constant, creating the perfect conditions for ageing wine.
Situated between the two rivers Astico and Brenta, the terrain is well-suited for grape-growing, as the soil on the slopes has volcanic properties, whilst on the plains it is morainic.
Breganze has invested heavily in modernising its winery, and now has state-of-the-art equipment, with a capacity of over 160,000 Hl.
