Quintarelli

Located in Cere', Negrar, on the Ca’ Paletta hill, Azienda Agricola Giuseppe Quintarelli Founded by Silvio Quintarelli at the turn of last century. He was a grape grower for local landlords in the mezzadria (Italian traditional sharecropping system).

In 1924, Silvio and his family were able to finally purchase land of their own in Cere'. In 1950, Silvio's son Giuseppe took over the family wine business, modernising the winery's infrastructure and machinery, without compromising on the quality of tradition.

The family were able to expand their estate in the 80s, allowing them also to grow a selection of other grapes, thereby increasing the winery's variety of production.

Giuseppe Quintarelli passed away at the age of 84 in January 2012. His family since then have carried on his vision and the estate is managed by one of his four daughters, Franca and her husband Giampaolo Grigoli.

The estate owns 10 vineyards with 3 situated on the Ca’ Paletta hill. For their international grape varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot) they use the Guyot system and for their local varieties (Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella) they use the Veronese pergola system.

Quintarelli’s Amarone wines (the Recioto, and the Valpolicella Classico Superiore) all have a comparable blend of around 55 percent Corvina and Corvinone and 30 percent Rondinella. The 15 percent that remains is made of Cabernet Sauvignon, Nebbiolo, Croatina and Sangiovese.
