Viticulture

Selected from the best vineyards of the Valtellina Superiore DOCG zone, including: Berbenno, Sondrio and Montagna in Valtellina. Vines are guyot-trained, and planted at an elevation of 400 - 650 m.asl, with southerly exposure. Soil is predominantly composed of sand ( 70%), with some lime (30%). 3,600 vines planted per ha.

Vinification

Grapes are then gently destemmed and crushed, before being transferred to stainless steel tanks where they are cold macerated for 4 days, followed by the alcoholic fermentation, with a 7 day maceration on the lees at contolled temperature of 25ÂșC. Aged for 10 months in wood. Fined in the bottle for 6 months before commercial release.
