Tenute Pieralisi

Region: Marche

History

The Pieralisi Estate, owned by one of the most famous families of entrepreneurs and winemakers in the Marche region, was established with the creation of the Monte Schiavo winery in 1976 in Maiolati Spontini, province of Ancona, in the heart of the classic production area of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi.
Innovation has always been a large aspect of the Pieralisi family, translating into their methods of wine production. In 1888, Adeodato Pieralaisi founded the first workshop dedicated to the maintenance of agricultural machinery.

Estate

Their winery is centred in the large 20-hectare Colle del Sole vineyard at Scorcelletti in the municipality of Maiolati Spontini.
All of the Pieralisi wines come from this single vineyard, creating the added factor of an efficient harvest time. The alluvial soil is rich in fine gravel, with high clay and limestone content and a fair amount of organic matter. The favourable characteristics of the soil and climate of this area are a product of influences from the sea, sun, breezes, rainfall, and protection stemming from the Apennine mountains.
The Pieralisi Estate are now certified organic and fully comply with policy regarding the production of vegan wines.
