History

Originally founded by 27 members ("soci") in 1957, this flourishing cooperative now boasts a membership of over 350 covering an area of 800 hectares
Venosa is a city in northern Basilicata and is famous for being the birthplace of Quintus Horatius Flaccus, poet of Carpe Diem, and the Madrigalist Carlo Gesualdo Prince of Venosa.

Estate

Located in the outskirts of Lucana, Basilicata, Cantina di Venosa has a combined landholding of 800 hectares and are the biggest producers of Aglianico in the Venosa zone. Their production is around 6000 kilos of grapes per hectare (4200 litres of wine).
For the production of their Aglianico, a series of wine-growing techniques are employed to assure the quality of their final product. Thanks to the careful coordination of all cooperative members, only the best Aglianico grapes are selected according to the health and ripeness of the berries.
