Location
In 1963 this little known region of Italian gained its independence from the "Abruzzi". In between Abruzzo and Puglia it cetrtainly has a southern feel to it. Molise ranks in at 19th in terms of size and population of Italy's regions. Campobasso is the region's capital and is a big exporter of drought ridden Puglia.
Climate
Warm Mediterranean but with cooling Adriatic sea breezes
Topography
Characterised by rolling hills as the Appenines turn towards the Puglian Plain. Everything about this regions seems innocuous – its hills, climate, lack of urban sprawl.
